What does a Home Advisor do?

Let’s talk a little about your roof, something we’re very passionate about at H2H… 

We spend a lot of time training our Home Advisors, with the main goal of being able to educate homeowners about their roof. As you probably know, your roof is one of the most important components of your home. Sometimes though, we get busy, and we forget about how important our roof maintenance can be. Just like our cars, if we maintain our roofs throughout the year with regular inspections, our roofs will be better protected and last longer. In addition to that, with regular roof maintenance we’re more likely to prevent damage we may incur over time or when a storm rolls through, thereby prolonging the life of our roof. And, if we get regular inspections and document the current state of our roofs; when a storm does roll through, which it will, our insurance companies will be more likely to cover the roof replacement. However, we understand, with everything you have going on in your life, it’s easy to forget about your roof. That’s why we’re here! To bring to your attention something that is so important for the life of your home and the life inside your home.

Our Home Advisors are trained to be Storm Damage Experts, with an emphasis on the importance of a homeowner’s roof and being advocates for homeowners. Whether we’re helping you open a claim with your insurance company or providing you an estimate for a retail roof replacement, our purpose is the same, we’re looking out for you and your roof. Roof safety is another part of training our Home Advisors are required to go through, and something we take very seriously at H2H. It’s for both our Home Advisors who are getting on roofs and for the homeowners, so that you can have peace of mind knowing that if a H2H Home Advisor is providing you with a complimentary inspection, it’s always “safety first”. They continue their training with extensive knowledge of roof anatomy and the different types of shingles that are available on the market today, as well as all roofing materials. They understand the insurance claims process so that they can help walk you through it, should you decide to go that route. And should you decide to pay for your roof replacement fully out of pocket, our Home Advisors can discuss our financing options to help you through that process as well. 

If a Home Advisor knocks on your door, here’s what you can expect… 

1. They will offer you a complimentary roof inspection
2. They will explain the importance of maintaining your roof 
3. They will document any damage they may find
4. They will present their findings to you, the homeowner
5. Finally, our Home Advisors will discuss your options, the services we offer, and work with you to come up with a tailored plan of action, personalized to you and your project

What if our Home Advisor doesn’t find damage on your roof? 

If our Home Advisor doesn’t find damage on your roof, they will happily give you a clean bill of health! In addition, they’ll provide you with a detailed report, so that in the event a storm rolls through after our inspection and you were to incur damage, you now have pictures on record documenting the condition of your prior to the storm. If you reach out to H2H, we can come back and document the damage your roof incurred and now we have before and after photos. That’s a HUGE advantage, especially when you’re considering opening a claim with your insurance provider.
